Bell Sports Recalls Defective Bicycle Helmets Due to Risk of Head Injury


WASHINGTON, D.C. – Bell Sports has issued a recall of certain children’s and adult bicycle helmets after determining the products do not meet the impact protection standards required by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The helmets may not adequately protect wearers in the event of a crash, creating a potential risk of head injury.

The recall includes specific models from Bell Sports’ children’s helmet lines—Axle, Cadence, Rev, and Frenzy—as well as Cadence and Passage helmets designed for adults.

Affected products carry model numbers B0605Y, B0605C, or B0494Y and were sold in a range of colors and patterns, including solid and combination colors such as pink and green, red and black, and purple and white, with various decorative designs, including rainbows, polka dots, and checkers.

Each helmet has a label inside indicating the model name and number.
