Ford Recalls Defective Bronco Sport and Escape Vehicles Due to Fire Hazard Risk


Dearborn, MI – Ford has issued a safety recall for select 2023–2025 Ford Escape and 2025 Bronco Sport vehicles due to a defect that could pose a fire risk.

The recall affects models equipped with the automaker’s 1.5-liter engines. Ford identified an issue with the cylinder head’s manufacturing, which may have been improperly assembled. This defect can result in oil leaking from the cylinder head’s ball plugs.

If leaking oil comes into contact with hot engine surfaces or the exhaust system, it could ignite, increasing the risk of a fire while the vehicle is in operation.

Ford has confirmed that 404 vehicles are affected by the defect.
