Yamaha Recalls Defective Golf Car Due to Risk of Accident


Yamaha Motor Corporation is expanding its recall of golf car vehicles after identifying a continued defect with the accelerator pedal return spring, which may fail to return the car to idle when released, creating a potential crash hazard.

The recall now includes approximately 352,000 additional units across multiple model years, including 2016–2024 Drive and Drive2 gas and electric models, Adventurer models from 2016–2018, and UMAX vehicles from 2019–2024. Affected units were sold in various colors at Yamaha dealers nationwide between July 2015 and December 2024.

This action follows four previous recalls: February 2018, October 2018, February 2022, and July 2023. Yamaha has received more than 2,200 incident reports related to this issue.
