Motorcyclist Coplin Fickett Killed in Accident with Dump Truck on Hallowell Road in Durham, Maine

Durham, Maine – A 32-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening in a collision involving a dump truck on Hallowell Road.

Authorities say Coplin Fickett of Durham was riding his motorcycle when a dump truck exited the Jaiden Landscaping gravel pit and attempted to turn south onto Hallowell Road. Fickett tried to lay the bike down to avoid a crash, but could not prevent the collision.

Fickett suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

More must be done to protect innocent motorcyclists from serious injury and death
