One Person Injured Following Tire Blowout Accident Near Mountain Parkway Ramp in Clay City, Kentucky

CLAY CITY, Ky. – A red pickup truck traveling westbound is believed to have suffered a tire blowout, which caused the driver to lose control and cross into the eastbound lane.

The pickup then struck an oncoming minivan head-on. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and at least one individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident happened near the Mountain Parkway ramp in Clay City on Friday.

No further information has been released at this time.

The cause of the tire failure must be investigated

Most responsible car owners take care of their tires. They regularly check the tires’ air pressure, replace worn tires, and drive safely on the roadways. However, even the most careful car owner can experience tire failure while driving, sometimes through no fault of their own.

Throughout our legal practice, we’ve encountered numerous cases where flaws in tire design or construction caused them to explode. When a defect in a tire causes a catastrophic accident, the manufacturer should be held accountable.

Police reports and crash investigations rarely dig into why a tire failed. Most blowouts are treated the same way, without investigating whether the tire was faulty from the start. That’s why it’s critical to have experienced professionals examine the evidence. With the right experts, we can uncover whether a tire was defective and should never have been on the road in the first place.

I hope the injured person fully recovers.
