At Least One Person Killed in a Fiery Semi-Truck Accident on SR 87 in East Valley, Phoenix, Arizona

PHOENIX, AZ – At least one person was killed in a fiery crash involving a semi-truck Wednesday morning on SR 87 near Mesa Drive, within the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community.

According to the Department of Public Safety, three vehicles, including a semi-truck, collided in the southbound lanes, igniting a fire that engulfed the semi and another vehicle. Authorities have not confirmed the number of injuries.

Aerial footage showed the semi-truck and a small vehicle veered into a ditch, both bearing heavy fire damage. A white SUV was also overturned nearby.

No additional details have been released.
