Black Diamond Equipment Recalls BD Vision Climbing Harnesses Due to Fall Hazard


March 13, 2025 – Black Diamond Equipment has issued a recall for all BD Vision climbing harnesses due to a potential fall hazard that could result in serious injury or death. The harnesses may degrade over time, compromising their ability to support climbers.

The recall affects approximately 1,580 units sold in the United States, with an additional 130 units sold in Canada. The BD Vision harness, designed for technical alpine and ice climbing, features fixed leg loops and was available in black and white. “Black Diamond” is printed on one leg loop, while “Vision” appears on the other.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled harnesses and contact Black Diamond for a refund. The company is offering a full refund via credit card reimbursement or a one-time-use $200 credit, redeemable at Black Diamond stores or online. Black Diamond will provide a prepaid shipping label for product returns and is directly notifying known purchasers.
