Columbus Trading-Partners Car Seats Recalled Due to Potential Harness Strap Failure


The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall of several car seat models manufactured by Columbus Trading-Partners due to a potential safety defect.

According to the recall notice, the harness hip anchorage retention hooks may bend, which could cause the anchor pin to loosen and lead to the harness strap detaching. This defect poses a risk of whiplash or other neck injuries in the event of a crash.

The recall affects the following car seat models:

  • Cybex Aton G
  • Aton G SensorSafe
  • Aton G Swivel
  • Aton G Swivel SensorSafe
  • Eos and Aton G Swivel Travel System
  • Eos and Aton G Travel System

Consumers with affected car seats will receive a notification letter from Columbus Trading-Partners. The company will provide a remedy kit along with installation instructions at no cost.

For more information, consumers can contact the manufacturer or visit the NHTSA website to check if their car seat is included in the recall.
