Dwayne Jackson Killed in an Accident with a Semi-truck on Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish, Louisiana

PRAIRIEVILLE – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred early Thursday morning on Interstate 10 westbound in Ascension Parish. The collision resulted in the death of 41-year-old Dwayne Jackson of New Orleans.

According to preliminary findings, Jackson was driving a 2006 Nissan Titan westbound in the right lane when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2025 Freightliner tractor-trailer. The Freightliner attempted to re-enter the roadway from the right shoulder at the time of impact.

Jackson was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

If you pull onto a highway, you must make sure the lane is clear before doing so. You cannot pull into a moving traffic lane and interrupt traffic flow. This truck driver should know this, yet failed to do so.

This is not fair, considering the truck driver clearly ignored basic safety rules about following distance and speed, leaving an innocent motorist with life-altering injuries from a crash that should never have happened.
