Genesis Recalls Over 32,000 Vehicles Due to Instrument Panel Malfunction


Genesis has issued a recall affecting 32,594 vehicles due to a software issue that may cause the instrument panel display to flicker or go blank, potentially leaving drivers without critical information such as speed and safety warnings.

The recall includes specific models from recent years:

  • 2023-2024 Genesis G80
  • 2023-2024 Genesis GV80
  • 2023-2025 Genesis GV70 Electrified
  • 2025 Genesis GV70

According to documents filed with federal safety regulators, the issue stems from a software defect affecting the driver display. Genesis dealers will provide owners with a software update at no cost to resolve the problem. Since these vehicles do not support over-the-air updates, owners will need to visit a dealership for the fix. The update is expected to be a quick service appointment.

Genesis will notify affected owners; however, vehicle owners can check for open recalls by visiting the manufacturer’s recall center or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website.

All recall repairs are performed free of charge.
