Louis Bitton Killed in a Rollover Accident on Highway 34 in Caribou County, Idaho

CARIBOU COUNTY, Idaho – A single-vehicle rollover crash outside Grace, Idaho, has resulted in the death of a 45-year-old man, according to local authorities. The incident happened on Tuesday evening. The crash occurred on Fish Hatchery Road along State Highway 34.

The victim has been identified as Louis Bitton of Grace.

According to reports, a Chevrolet pickup had veered off the road and rolled over. Emergency responders transported Bitton to Caribou Medical Center before he was transferred to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello where he succumbed to his injuries.

Defects in certain truck models leave people fatally or seriously injured in rollover crashes

Shouldn’t vehicles be designed to protect us from serious harm in rollover crashes? The technology to prevent life-threatening injuries in these accidents has been available for decades. I’ve seen cases where people walk away from severe rollovers with just a few cuts and bruises while others are left severely injured or lose their lives. The difference often comes down to the vehicle they were driving.

We recently took on a tragic case involving a fatal rollover crash in Texas involving a defective roof structure and restraint system. The crash occurred when the driver lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a rollover that led to severe injuries. Despite wearing his seatbelt, the truck’s roof collapsed, and its restraints failed to protect him.

We are fighting to hold the truck manufacturer accountable for its negligence and to seek justice for the surviving family. Every manufacturer should be required to build vehicles that protect passengers from serious injury. This means seatbelts should restrain, airbags should deploy, and roofs should not collapse and crush occupants.

For those fatally injured in rollover accidents, it’s crucial to investigate whether a defect contributed to their injuries. No one should die due to a manufacturer’s failure to meet essential safety standards.

Trained professionals can inspect the vehicle involved in this crash to determine if it was defective. If it is, the surviving family deserves the justice and compensation needed to move forward after this devastating incident.
