One Person Killed in a Multi-Vehicle Accident with Two Semi-Trucks on Interstate 96 in Lansing, Michigan


Lansing, Mich. – A multi-vehicle crash on westbound I-96 at US-127 resulted in the death of a 34-year-old Flint woman. The incident happened Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred when the woman’s Toyota Avalon, traveling eastbound, was struck from behind by a semi-truck. The impact forced the Toyota across the median into the path of a westbound semi-truck operated by a 34-year-old Texas man.

Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the Toyota deceased at the scene.

No further details are available at this time.

The surviving family deserves answers and justice

It’s never right when a person driving,  going along their day, minding their lane, following rules, is killed in an accident of no fault of their own. This is what seems to have happened here. And while we do not have all the facts yet, our decades of experience tell us that distraction, excessive speed, or driving too close behind a vehicle are the usual culprits of rear-end collisions. In some instances, other factors caused the accident, such as when a mechanical failure occurs. These are all preventable reasons and happen when safety wasn’t placed first.
