One Person Seriously Injured in Accident with Semi-truck on Interstate 64 in Institute, West Virginia


Institute, W.Va. – A crash involving a semi-truck and a car left one person seriously injured. The incident happened Monday evening.

The crash occurred when the semi reportedly merged into the car, pinning it against the median. After the vehicles separated, the car caught fire while the semi veered across the highway, struck a guardrail, and overturned.

The car’s driver was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the semi driver may have experienced a medical issue before or during the crash.
