Triangle Tube Recalls Gas Boilers Due to Carbon Monoxide Hazard; Two Fatalities Reported


Washington, D.C. – Triangle Tube, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a recall for select Prestige Solo, Prestige Excellence, and Aerco Esteem condensing gas boilers due to a risk of carbon monoxide (CO) exposure. The affected units may release CO due to delayed ignition or component failure, creating a serious safety hazard.

Triangle Tube has confirmed two fatalities linked to CO poisoning from the recalled boilers. In 2015, a 47-year-old woman died due to CO exposure involving a Prestige Solo 175 boiler. In 2016, an 85-year-old man died after a Prestige Solo TriMax 175 boiler, previously repaired, emitted dangerous CO levels. Additionally, the company has received 25 reports of CO leaks associated with the recalled models.

Since 2011, approximately 60,000 boilers have been sold in the United States and around 7,500 in Canada.
