Two Injured in an Accident with a Semi-Truck that Hydroplanes on Interstate 10 in Escambia County, Florida


ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A serious crash on Monday morning along I-10 West in Escambia County left two men critically injured.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-truck was traveling east on I-10 when it hydroplaned, crossing the median into the westbound lanes. The semi collided with the side of a truck tractor driven by a 39-year-old Kissimmee man, which then struck a sedan driven by a 25-year-old Fairhope man. The sedan veered off the roadway and overturned.

Both drivers sustained critical injuries and were transported to the hospital.

Authorities have not released additional details at this time.

The injured deserve answers and justice

It’s never right when a person driving,  going along their day, minding their lane, following rules, is injured in an accident of no fault of their own. This is what seems to have happened here. And while we do not have all the facts yet, our decades of experience tell us that distraction, excessive speed, and maintenance conditions are the usual culprits of collisions like this one.
