AliExpress Recalls Defective LED Strip Lights Due to Child Safety Hazard and Regulatory Violations


AliExpress has issued a recall of RGB-branded LED strip lights after determining the products pose a serious ingestion hazard to children and fail to meet mandatory federal safety standards established under Reese’s Law.

The recalled LED strip lights, which are color-changing and dimmable, are powered by button cell lithium batteries. The product’s design allows easy access to these batteries, placing young children at risk of swallowing them. The lights also lack the required safety warnings to alert consumers of the potential dangers.

Swallowing button or coin batteries can lead to severe internal injuries, chemical burns, and can be fatal if not treated promptly.

The recalled strip lights measure approximately 0.4 inches in width and were sold in a range of colors, including white, warm white, blue, ice blue, green, red, yellow, purple, and pink.
