Amazon Recalls Defective Child Safety Gates Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death


A nationwide recall has been issued for multiple child safety gates sold on Amazon.com due to serious safety hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the gates fail to comply with federal safety standards for expansion gates and expandable enclosures, posing risks of entrapment and falls.

According to CPSC, the recalled gates allow a child’s torso to fit through certain openings and may fail to properly lock or resist push-out force, significantly increasing the risk of injury or death. The gates were imported by Yiwu Baili Import and Export and sold under various listings by third-party sellers on Amazon.

All affected gates are made of steel and ABS plastic and were sold in black or white. They may be pressure-mounted, drill-mounted, and vary in size. Some models feature a secondary pet door.
