One Killed, Dozens Injured in a Tour Bus Accident on 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights, California

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. — A collision involving a tour bus and a passenger vehicle on the 60 Freeway Sunday morning left one person dead and 32 others hospitalized.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a crash and vehicle fire near Hacienda Boulevard. Firefighters arrived to find a tour bus and a Nissan SUV involved in the collision, with the SUV fully engulfed in flames.

Authorities later confirmed the driver of the Nissan, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, died at the scene after becoming trapped inside the burning car.

CHP officials stated that the Nissan had become disabled in the far left lane for unknown reasons when the tour bus struck it from behind. The impact caused the bus to veer across all lanes before hitting a guardrail on the right shoulder.

Of those, 32 were taken to local hospitals with varying degrees of injury. Two passengers were listed in critical condition.

The surviving family and the injured deserve answers and accountability from those at fault
