One Killed, One Injured Following Semi-truck and Van Accident on Interstate 39 in Winnebago County, Illinois


WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. — One person died in a crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger van on Interstate 39 near Baxter Road Friday morning.

According to authorities, a semi-truck struck a van traveling in the same direction. One person inside the van died at the scene. Another individual was transported to a hospital with injuries, though their condition remains unknown.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the person killed. Video footage showed additional damaged vehicles nearby, but police have not confirmed whether they were part of the crash or involved in separate incidents.
