Three People Killed in a Multi-Vehicle Accident Involving Semi-trucks on Interstate 75 Near Calhoun, Georgia

CALHOUN, Ga. — Three people died in a multi-vehicle crash on I-75 near Calhoun.

The fatal collision occurred Tuesday between Calhoun and Adairsville when a northbound tractor-trailer collided with a Hyundai Sonata, crossed the median, and entered the southbound lanes. The truck then struck two other tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles — a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Ranger. The Ranger caught fire following the impact.

In total, six vehicles were involved in the crash.

No further information is currently available.

The surviving families deserve answers and justice for this fatal truck collision

Accidents like this show that you can follow all the rules of the road, drive safely, be a good driver, and still lose your life because someone else breaks safety guidelines. No one should die in this manner. When incidents like this happen, the families of the deceased deserve answers and accountability.

The actions that led the trucker to stray into oncoming traffic come into play here. What exactly transpired in this situation? Was the truck driver exhausted, distracted, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol? Did the vehicle suffer a mechanical malfunction, like a steering failure? These questions are important to ask because, many times in commercial truck crashes, more than one party shares fault.

The roadways should never be a place where people die. And sadly, head-on collisions are often preventable, and the direct result of driver error or preventable mechanical problems that could be avoided with proper maintenance and regular inspections.

The surviving families deserve answers, justice, and compensation for their suffering and loss. I hope the families left behind receive the clarity and guidance they will need to move forward.
