Goodyear Recalls Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT Tires Over Missing Identification Code that Can Increase Accident Risk


Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has issued a recall for a limited number of Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT tires, size LT275/65R18, due to a labeling error that prevents proper identification of the tire’s manufacturing date.

According to the company, the affected tires are missing the required four-digit date code that indicates the week and year of production. This marking is mandated under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 574, which governs tire identification and recordkeeping.

Without the date code, tire owners and safety officials cannot confirm when the tire was manufactured. This can lead to the tire being used beyond its safe lifespan or remaining in service after a recall, both of which pose an increased risk of a crash.

The recall impacts an estimated 170 vehicles.
