Allegedly Defective Children’s HOMEAL Bed Rails Recalled Due to Entrapment and Death Hazard


WASHINGTON — HOMEAL has issued a recall for its children’s portable bed rails after discovering they pose a serious risk of entrapment that could result in injury or death.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled bed rails fail to comply with the federal safety standard for children’s portable bed rails. When attached to a bed, a child can become trapped between the rail and the mattress, creating a life-threatening entrapment hazard.

The recall covers HOMEAL-branded bed rails sold through Amazon. The affected products feature a white steel frame and gray Oxford cloth with “HOMEAL” printed on the side. “Model No.: 338” is stitched on a label attached to the product.
