Astemrey Recalls Allegedly Defective Bioethanol Fireplace Fuel Containers Due to Flash Fire Hazards and Risk of Serious Injury or Death


WASHINGTON — Astemrey has announced a recall of its Y’all Can DIY Liquid Bioethanol Fireplace Fuel Containers due to a serious fire risk.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled containers violate mandatory safety standards for portable fuel containers because they lack the required flame-mitigation devices. Without these safety features, vapors from the fuel can ignite and cause a flash fire, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

The recalled product was sold under the Y’all Can DIY brand. It comes in a clear bottle with a black cap and a black-and-white label featuring orange and white lettering. The label includes the product name along with the phrases “No Soot,” “No Ash,” and “Clean Burning.” Hazard warnings are printed on the container’s sides.
