Residential Elevators Recalls Allegedly Defective Home Elevators Over Impact Hazard


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Residential Elevators, Inc. has announced a recall of certain home traction elevators after reports that the elevator cab could unexpectedly rise to the top of the shaft and stop abruptly, posing an impact hazard to occupants.

The recall applies to models LLT-952, LLT-953, LLT-954, and LLT-955. The affected elevators were designed for residential use and feature the name “Residential Elevators” printed on the lighted operating panel inside the cab.

At least eight incidents involving a failure in the motor gearbox assembly have been reported.
