Wilteexs Recalls Bioethanol Fuel Bottles Due to Flash Fire and Death Hazards

WASHINGTON — Wilteexs has issued a recall for its bioethanol fuel bottles after determining the product violates multiple federal safety standards and poses a serious risk of injury or death.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled ethanol fuel bottles do not include the flame-mitigation devices required under the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act, posing a risk of flash fire. The bottles also fail to meet labeling requirements under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act due to claims that the contents are “Non-Toxic.”

The recall covers Wilteexs-branded bioethanol bottles used for tabletop fire pits, fireplaces, stoves, and burners. The recalled 1-liter clear bottles are pre-filled with fuel and display “WILTEEXS,” “BIO ETHANOL,” and a blue-and-white flame logo on the front label. The code “X004IQ9ZCH” is printed below the barcode on the back of the bottle.
