Scepter Recalls Fuel Containers Due to Risk of Flash Fire, Burns, and Poisoning Hazards


Scepter has issued a recall of its gas-and-oil combination fuel containers due to significant safety hazards that could result in severe injury or death.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled products do not comply with required federal safety standards for portable fuel containers. The containers are sold without flame mitigation devices, creating a risk of flash fire. Additionally, the spouts are not child-resistant, posing a burn and poisoning hazard to children.

The recall involves Scepter B62 dual-chamber fuel containers, which are red with black caps and feature yellow spouts on both ends. The containers have a 6-liter gasoline capacity on one side and a 2.5-liter oil capacity on the other. “Scepter” and “Gasoline Danger” are embossed on the side, and a Fire Marshall stamp appears near the fuel spout.
