One Person Injured in an Accident with a Semi-truck that Allegedly Ran a Red Light at the Intersection of US 41 and Inglefield Road in Vanderburgh County, Indiana

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of US 41 and Inglefield Road.

Police say the semi was traveling north on US 41 when the driver failed to stop at a red light and struck a car in the intersection.

The driver of the car was transported to a hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Red Lights Are Not Optional for Commercial Trucks

Traffic lights are there for a reason: to prevent accidents. Yet over and over again, we see cases where 80,000-pound trucks run red lights like they’re cutting through an empty highway, not an active intersection. These are not split-second mistakes—they are a failure to follow a basic rule that protects everyone on the road.

But even in collisions where fault seems apparent, trucking companies will do all they can to shift or minimize blame. They may push for quick settlements, failing to account for the severity of the injuries and the financial expenses and losses their driver’s negligent actions caused.

This is unfair and unjust. When someone is injured in a collision because of someone else’s actions, the responsible party should be held accountable.

We hope the injured driver makes a full recovery and finds the answers and justice they deserve.
