Allegedly Defective LXDHSTRA Baby Loungers and Crib Bumpers Recalled for Suffocation and Fall Hazards

WASHINGTON — LXDHSTRA baby loungers with crib bumpers have been recalled due to risks of suffocation, entrapment, and falls, according to federal officials.

The loungers fail to meet the mandatory federal standard for infant sleep products. The sides are too low to contain an infant, the sleeping pad is too thick and poses a suffocation hazard, and the foot openings are wider than allowed, creating risks of falls and entrapment. The loungers also lack a proper stand, making them unsafe if used on elevated surfaces.

The included crib bumpers violate the federal Safe Sleep for Babies Act, which bans padded crib bumpers due to their risk of suffocation. Officials said the bumpers can obstruct breathing and cause serious injury or death.

The recall involves LXDHSTRA-branded baby loungers sold in prints featuring a tan star, a big elephant, a green elephant, a gray feather, and a gray rainbow. Each unit came with a red and black padded crib bumper decorated with letters “A” through “F” on one side and animal characters on the other.

The products were sold online through Amazon.
