Walker Edison Recalls Allegedly Defective Chests for Tip-Over and Entrapment Hazards to Children


SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Walker Edison Furniture Company has issued a recall for several models of its drawer chests due to serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that could result in injury or death to children.

The affected products include two three-drawer models and three four-drawer models made of wood and available in various finishes, including white, gray, stained wood, and wood-look laminate. The chests feature removable drawers and stand about five inches off the floor on wooden legs.

According to federal safety officials, the recalled chests are unstable when not anchored to the wall and do not meet the voluntary industry standard ASTM F2057-19 for clothing storage units.

Model numbers for the three-drawer chests include BR3DMILDRDW (840035320847) and BR3DMILDRSG (840035320854). The recalled four-drawer Spencer chests include model numbers BR4DDRCA (842158142443), BR4DDRWH (842158142436), and BR4DDRWT (842158142450).
