Burley Recalls Allegedly Defective Dash X FM Child Bicycle Seats Due to Crash and Injury Risk


WASHINGTON — Burley Design has issued a recall of its Dash X FM child bicycle seats after reports that a defective component could cause a crash hazard.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the reclining plate that secures the child seat may detach, making the seat unstable. This defect could cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle, posing a risk of injury.

The recall covers Dash X FM frame mount child seats with model number 924004. Affected products have serial numbers beginning with “P924” and lot numbers starting with “D” or “E.” The serial and lot numbers can be found on a white label on the lower rear of the seat, which also displays the “BURLEY” name. The words “DASH X” are engraved near the top rear of the seat.

The recall applies only to the Dash X FM model.
