Enerco Group Recalls Allegedly Defective DeWALT Cordless Kerosene Heaters Due to Carbon Monoxide Hazards


Enerco Group has recalled certain DeWALT cordless kerosene forced-air heaters after discovering a defect that can cause the units to restart unexpectedly while in standby mode. If the room temperature drops below the thermostat setting, the heater may power back on, posing risks of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning.

The recall covers model DXH90CFAK with serial numbers ranging from 340902-20001001 through 340902-20004000, and model DXH90CFAKM with serial numbers from 340901-20001001 through 340901-20001500. The affected heaters feature a black base, yellow body, and gray combustion barrel, with “DeWALT” and “90,000 BTU” marked in yellow on the barrel. Model and serial numbers appear on the side panel opposite the controls.

There has been at least one report of a heater powering on after being moved while left in standby mode and not switched off.
