Toro Recalls Allegedly Defective Power Max Snowthrowers for Amputation Hazard


Toro has issued a recall for certain Power Max snowthrowers after discovering a defect that poses a serious safety risk. The company reported that the auger may not stop turning when the control lever is released, creating a danger of amputation.

The recall applies to Model Year 2021 Toro Power Max 826 OHAE snowthrowers, sold under model number 37802. According to the company, five incidents have been reported in which the auger failed to disengage properly.
