Over One Million Allegedly Defective Greenworks and Powerworks Pressure Washer Spray Guns Recalled for Injury Hazard


CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than one million Greenworks and Powerworks pressure washer spray guns are being recalled after reports that the connectors can break during use, posing a risk of impact injuries, according to federal safety officials.

The recall includes the Greenworks brand 2000 psi plastic spray gun sold as part of accessory kits and with Greenworks pressure washer models ranging from 1500 to 1800 psi, as well as Powerworks models ranging from 1700 to 1800 psi. The brand name appears on the side of the spray gun, and recalled units have a black plastic interior connector rather than metal. Model numbers are listed on the back of the pressure washer unit near the top.

There have been at least 15 reports of spray gun connectors breaking, causing hoses or connector parts to detach under pressure. Thirteen injuries have been reported, including concussions, broken bones, and facial and eye injuries, with cases requiring medical treatment.
