Rep Fitness Recalls Allegedly Defective Strap Safety Brackets for Risk of Fall and Serious Injury


Rep Fitness has announced a recall of certain Strap Safety Brackets used with its weightlifting systems due to a welding defect that could cause the brackets to break under heavy load. The hazard arises if a large amount of weight is suddenly dropped onto the Strap Safeties, potentially causing the brackets to detach from the equipment and posing a risk of injury.

The company has received reports of brackets failing due to improper welding when subjected to a dropped weight.

The recall covers Strap Safety Brackets designed for the PR-4000 (SKU PRA-4120) and PR-5000 (SKU PRA-5122) systems. The brackets are black and secure the Strap Safeties to the squat stand uprights with heavy-duty bolts. Consumers are advised to retain the straps and bolts, as only the brackets are affected.
