Knoxville, Tenn. — Continental Tire of the Americas has issued a recall for specific tire models after determining that an incorrect rubber compound was used during production, potentially leading to tread detachment.

According to the company, separation of the tread from the tire structure can significantly increase the risk of a crash.

The recall applies to the following tire models:

  • TerrainContact H/T LT265/60R20 121/118R
    • CrossContact LX25 235/60R18 107V
    • CrossContact RX ContiSeal 275/40R21 107H
    • General Grabber HTS 60 LT245/75R17 121/118S
