Grace Meyer Injured in Rollover Accident on U.S. Highway 63 Near Zumbro Falls, Minnesota

ZUMBRO FALLS, Minn. — A woman from Stewartville was injured in a rollover crash on Monday night near Zumbro Falls. The incident happened on U.S. Highway 63, just north of Minnesota Highway 60.

According to reports, a 2016 Chevrolet Trax was headed south when it left the roadway, rolled, and came to rest in a ditch.

The driver, identified as Grace Meyer, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Mary’s for treatment.

Did the vehicle protect the driver from serious injury?

When a rollover accident occurs, it is natural to focus on what caused the crash. But we also need to ask an even more important question: Did the vehicle provide adequate protection?

Rollovers can happen for many reasons – road conditions, weather, or driver actions. But once a rollover starts, the vehicle should protect its occupants. This doesn’t always happen.

Some vehicles have design flaws that make rollovers more dangerous than they should be. Weak roof structures can collapse, failing to maintain a survivable space inside. Seatbelts might not hold people securely, or airbags could fail to deploy. These aren’t driver errors – they’re manufacturing defects that turn survivable accidents into tragedies.

To understand what really happened here, we need to examine the vehicle closely. A thorough inspection can reveal if the safety systems worked as they should have. Did the roof hold up? Did the restraints do their job? These answers can show if a defect made the injuries worse.

Car companies don’t like to admit when their vehicles fall short. However, legal tools such as expert inspections and depositions can help uncover the truth. This process isn’t about blaming anyone, but rather about understanding what happened and potentially preventing similar incidents from occurring.

For the injured here, these answers matter. They deserve to know if better vehicle design could have changed the outcome.
