Maurice McGowan Killed in a Construction Accident at Medina County Data Center Site in Texas

MEDINA COUNTY, Texas – Authorities have identified the worker who died Monday at the construction site of a future data center in Medina County.

According to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Maurice McGowan was killed after being struck by an articulating truck at the site. McGowan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said McGowan was employed as a subcontractor for Turner Construction, a North American-based construction services company.

Construction site safety needs to be investigated

There was a terrible failure here. No one should have to fear being struck by machinery at a work site while they are doing their job. When a fatal accident like this one happens, families are often left with overwhelming grief and asking: How could this happen? They deserve answers.
