Two Injured When a Hydroplaning Box Truck Causes an Accident on Interstate 95 in Martin County, Florida

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — A crash involving a box truck and a sedan left two people injured on Friday morning. The incident happened on Interstate 95 near Hobe Sound.

Troopers said the crash happened when a northbound Chevrolet box truck hydroplaned on the wet roadway, crossed the median, and struck a southbound Nissan Altima.

The impact caused the truck to overturn, blocking multiple lanes, while the sedan came to rest in the middle lane. Two women in the sedan, one from Stuart and the other from Palm City, were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Accident that Led to the Truck Hydroplaning Needs Further Investigation

Slippery roads from rainfall can be dangerous. During inclement weather, commercial truck drivers have a responsibility to follow safe weather conditions and not place smaller vehicles in danger.

So what went wrong here? Why did this box truck hydroplane and place two people who were simply traveling that morning in harm’s way?

When truck drivers fail to take necessary precautions and their actions result in serious harm, they must be held accountable.

Our thoughts are with the two injured women. In cases like this, experienced truck accident attorneys can help those injured and impacted find the answers they deserve.
