ZLINE Recalls Allegedly Defective Gas Ranges Over Carbon Monoxide Hazard Risk


RENO, Nev. – ZLINE has issued a recall of certain 30-inch, 36-inch, and 48-inch gas ranges after reports that the oven compartment can release unsafe levels of carbon monoxide during operation, creating a serious risk of injury or death.

The recall affects ZLINE gas ranges with model numbers RG30, RGS-30, RGB-30, RG36, RGS-36, RGB-36, RG48, RGS-48, and RGB-48. These appliances were sold in multiple door colors: black matte, blue gloss, blue matte, DuraSnow, red gloss, red matte, and white matte. Finishes included stainless steel, black stainless steel, and DuraSnow, a cloudy steel finish.

The ZLINE logo is located on the lower portion of the oven door. Model numbers can be found on a label on the back of the appliance and, for units purchased after 2020, also on a label beneath the right side of the range top, visible when the oven door is open.

The company has received 44 reports of carbon monoxide emissions, three of which involved consumers requiring medical attention. Following the initial recall and repair efforts, ZLINE received an additional 131 reports indicating that the repair did not resolve the hazard, with ovens continuing to emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.
