Jeep Recalls More Than 91,000 Allegedly Defective Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrids Due to Power Loss Risk


Jeep has issued a recall of 91,787 Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid SUVs after identifying a software defect that could cause the vehicles to lose power while driving.

The recall applies to all 2022 through 2026 model-year Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrids. Officials said the issue stems from the battery pack control module, which may become overloaded and reset unexpectedly. If that occurs, the vehicle could experience a sudden loss of drive power, raising the risk of a crash.

The affected vehicles were manufactured between July 23, 2021, and August 29, 2025.
