GM Recalls Defective Chevrolet Corvettes Due to Risk of Fire


DETROIT — General Motors is recalling more than 23,000 Chevrolet Corvettes after identifying a defect that could lead to vehicle fires during refueling.

The recall applies to 2023–2026 Corvette Z06 models equipped with LT6 engines and 2025–2026 Corvette ZR1 models with LT7 engines. According to GM, excess fuel can spill into the fuel-filler pocket during refueling and may come into contact with an ignition source, creating a fire hazard.

The company noted malfunctioning fuel pumps at gas stations may have contributed.
