Ford Recalls Nearly 500,000 Defective 2015–2018 Ford Edge SUVs and 2016–2018 Lincoln MKX SUVs Due to Risk of Crash


WASHINGTON — Ford Motor Company is recalling close to 500,000 vehicles due to a defect that could cause brake fluid to leak and increase the risk of a crash.

The recall covers 2015–2018 Ford Edge SUVs and 2016–2018 Lincoln MKX models

According to federal safety officials, the rear brake hose in these vehicles may rupture, allowing fluid to escape and requiring longer stopping distances.

Ford confirmed that, as of now, it has received 16 complaints related to leaking rear brake hoses.
