Zazaba International Recalls Defective Grão de Gente Baby Nests for Infant Safety Risks

Zazaba International has recalled Grão de Gente Baby Nests sold exclusively on Zazaba.com after federal safety regulators determined the products violate infant sleep safety standards and pose serious risks to babies.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the recalled products do not comply with requirements under the Safety Standard for Infant Sleep Products. Hazards include suffocation, falls, and entrapment due to low side heights, overly thick sleep pads, and openings that could allow an infant to fall or become trapped.

Additionally, baby nest models sold with head pillows violate the Safe Sleep for Babies Act of 2021, which bans inclined sleepers for infants. The law was enacted after fatalities occurred in inclined products when babies rolled over or became restrained in unsafe positions.

The recalled baby nests feature a cloth cover with a foam sleeping pad and padded bumper, offered in various prints and colors. Each has a “Grão de Gente” tag sewn onto the fabric cover.
