Joybuy Marketplace Express Recalls Defective Infant Sling Carriers Due to Risk of Fall or Suffocation

WASHINGTON — Several infant sling carriers sold online through Walmart.com are being recalled after federal regulators found the products violate mandatory safety standards, posing risks of suffocation and falls to infants.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled carriers fail to meet structural integrity and occupant retention requirements. The waist restraint can also be used without the crotch restraint, creating a serious hazard. In addition, the carriers lack warning labels and instructional materials that explain safe positioning and the importance of keeping a baby’s face clear to prevent suffocation.

The recall includes sling carriers designed with an adjustable shoulder strap, black plastic buckle, and hook-and-loop waist and crotch restraints. The carriers are solid navy on the outside, with varying interior colors and patterns.
