Mazda Recalls Over 100,000 Defective Vehicles Due to Risk of Accident


WASHINGTON — Mazda is recalling more than 100,000 vehicles due to a fuel gauge defect that could cause the vehicles to unexpectedly stall.

Officials said the issue involves an inaccurate fuel gauge reading, which may lead drivers to believe more fuel is available than there actually is. This could result in the vehicle running out of fuel without warning and stalling, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall covers 104,854 vehicles, including:

  • 2025 Mazda CX-70 (16,056 vehicles) manufactured between Dec. 5, 2023, and April 24, 2025
  • 2024–2025 Mazda CX-90 (88,798 cars) manufactured between Dec. 27, 2022, and April 25, 2025
