AliExpress Recalls Defective Multi-styler Hair Dryers Due to Risk of Electric Shock


WASHINGTON — AliExpress has announced a recall of certain multi-styler hair dryers after federal regulators found they pose a risk of electric shock or electrocution.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the affected handheld dryers were sold without an immersion protection device, a required safety feature that prevents electrocution if the product comes into contact with water while plugged in. The absence of this safeguard presents a substantial product hazard.

The recall covers three multi-styler bundles sold online at AliExpress.com. The products include:

  • 6-in-1 Multi Styler: Available in light gray and light green, featuring more than three heating modes, with the model number HS01 printed on the underside, powered by a V9 digital motor. The unit measures approximately 16 inches in length, 7 inches in width, and 5 inches in height, weighing four pounds.
  • 5-in-1 Multi Styler: Sold in light gray and light green, also with more than three heating modes, model number HS01 on the underside, powered by a V9 digital motor. The unit measures approximately 14 inches in length, 6 inches in width, and 4 inches in height, weighing four pounds.
