Specialized Bicycle Components Recalls Defective Supacaz Orbitron Pedals Over Fall Hazard


MORGAN HILL, Calif. — Specialized Bicycle Components has issued a recall of its Supacaz Orbitron pedals after reports of parts breaking that could cause riders to fall.

The company said the pedal body may separate from the spindle or the spindle itself can break during use, creating a fall risk.

The recall applies to Supacaz Orbitron pedals, which are low-profile, alloy models with replaceable parts. They were sold in an oil-slick multicolor design and measure about eight inches long by four inches wide.

Specialized has received 21 reports of pedals failing.
