Buffalo Games Recalls Defective Water Beads Activity Kits After Infant Death and Injuries Reported


WASHINGTON – Buffalo Games, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has recalled about 52,000 Chuckle & Roar Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kits sold exclusively at Target stores and online.

The recall was issued after reports that children who swallowed the beads suffered severe injuries. The beads expand inside the body, creating choking and intestinal obstruction hazards that can result in vomiting, dehydration, serious injury, or death.

Buffalo Games confirmed one infant death in Wisconsin linked to the product, along with a separate case in Maine where a child required surgery after ingesting the beads.

The recalled product comes in a purple box labeled “Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kit” and contains both jumbo and regular beads, a clear storage container with lid, toy fish, scoops, tweezers, activity cards, and instructions. The UPC number 079346627035 is printed on the back of the packaging.
