SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 north of Tyler sent 17 people to area hospitals on Saturday.

According to authorities, the collision occurred near Jim Hogg Road and involved two 18-wheelers along with six passenger vehicles.

Authorities said 19 people were involved in the wreck. Seventeen were transported to hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
