Two People Injured in Chain-Reaction Crash after Dump Truck Loses Tire on Interstate 15 in Lindon, Utah

LINDON, Utah – Two people sustained serious injuries after a chain-reaction crash on Wednesday morning. The incident happened on I-15 in Utah County.

According to reports, a dump truck traveling northbound lost a rear tire. As traffic slowed, a semi-truck struck a passenger car from behind, pushing it into several other vehicles.

Troopers reported that one person suffered critical injuries and another sustained serious injuries in the collisions.

No further information is currently available.

All responsible parties should be held accountable in chain-reaction collisions

There is no doubt that the semi-truck should have been maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front of it. Traffic can change at any moment, and these massive vehicles must have enough time and distance to brake safely.

But for full accountability to happen for those injured, we need to go beyond the semi-truck and its actions. What experienced truck attorneys will examine is everyone’s role on the road and whether they share fault. For instance, why did the dump truck lose a tire? Was the truck routinely inspected and well-maintained? Did the tire have a defect? What role exactly did the dump truck have in this incident?

These details are extremely important. Whenever someone is seriously injured on our roadways, all who share fault should be held accountable. That is only right and fair and is the law.

My hope is for all those injured to make a full recovery.
